Landscaping and Decking
Landscaping and Decking in Medway and Mid Kent
Our contractors design and build gardens across Medway, Maidstone, Gravesend and Faversham, including composite decking, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fencing and planting. One project manager looks after the groundwork, carpentry, electrics and paving so your garden comes together as one finished space.
About this service
Our landscaping and decking service
A garden project usually involves more trades than people expect. Decking needs a solid, level frame, an outdoor kitchen needs power and lighting, and a new patio needs the right base and drainage. We bring those trades together under one plan, so the deck, the pergola and the patio all line up and work together.
Our recent garden work includes raised composite decking with black metal railings, a timber framed gazebo with a slate roof, and a pitched roof pergola with an integrated outdoor kitchen and festoon lighting.

Questions
Landscaping and Decking questions answered
Cannot see your question? Send us a message and your project manager will reply.
Do I need planning permission for decking?
Decking is usually permitted development as long as it is no more than 30 centimetres above the ground and covers no more than half of the garden. Raised decking higher than that may need planning permission, and we will check before building.
Is composite decking better than timber?
Composite decking does not need staining, does not splinter and resists rot, so it suits families who want a low maintenance garden. Timber costs less at the start but needs regular treatment. We fit both and will explain the difference for your garden.
Can you add lighting and power to my garden?
Yes. Our electricians install outdoor sockets, festoon lighting and low level garden lights as part of the same project, all certified to the current regulations.
How high can a garden fence be?
In most cases a fence can be up to 2 metres high without planning permission, or 1 metre where it sits next to a road or footpath used by vehicles. We will confirm the right height for your boundary.
